The abuse and misuse of prescription drugs is a serious issue facing our community and our nation. Everyone has a part to play to combat this epidemic including patients, medical professional, employers, and parents. Most people that abuse prescription drugs get them from a friend or family member, so secure storage at home and safe disposal at drop off sites are good first steps everyone can follow. Always read the instructions, never share your prescriptions with someone else, never mix with alcohol or other drugs, and make sure the name on the label is yours.
Below you can find a list of resources including a link with INSPECT registration information for prescribers and dispensers, prescribing guidelines, pain management tips for patients, information about drug free workplaces, and Floyd County's expanded list of prescription drug drop off sites.
